| Centripetal force | An inward perpendicular force that causes an object to move in a circle |
| Friction | The resistance one object feels when it is in contact with another |
| Net force | The force that is left when all forces acting on a body are taken into consideration |
| Newton (N) | The unit for force; equal to the mass of an object times its acceleration (Kg . m/s2) |
| Perpendicular | A line or ray that meets another at a ninety (90) degree angle |
| Principle of inertia | The resistance of a body to a change in its state of rest or motion |
| Reaction | The response to an action |
| Rotational inertia | The tendency for a rotating object to remain at rest or in motion |
| Torque | A force that causes rotation; equal to mass times length of the radius |
