QuestionAnswer
Science A way of learning about the natural world and the knowlged gained though that process
Scientific inquiry The diverse ways in which scientists expore problems and seek to answer questions about the natural world
Observation using all five senses to gather infromation
inference An interpretation based on obsevation and pirior knowedge
Hypothesis A possible explation for a set of observations or an ansewer to a scentific Question
Controlled exeriment An experiment in which all factors expect one are kept consent
Variable Any factor that can be changed in an experiment
Manipulated variable The one factor that a scientist changes during an experiment also called the independent variable in a experiment
Responding variable The factor that changes as a result of changes made by the manipulated variable in an experiment also called the dependent variable
Data The facts, figures, and other evidence gained though observations
scientific theory A well - tested concept that explain a wide range of obsrstions
