TermDefinition
Communicable Disease A disease that can be contracted by coming into contact with an infected person.
Non-communicable disease A disease that you cannot contract by coming into contact with a person that has that disease.
Anorexia nervosa An eating disorder characterized by eating very little or nothing because of an intense fear of gaining weight.
Bulimia nervosa An eating disorder characterized by consuming large amounts of calories and then trying to get rid of those calories by vomiting (often called purging) and/or extreme exercising.
Binge eating An eating disorder characterized by overeating or consuming a large amount of calories and having the feeling of not being able to stop eating.
Depression A psychological disorder that is characterized by feelings of sadness, helplessness, hopelessness.
Anxiety A psychological disorder that is usually characterized by tension and extreme worry.
