kerning | adjusting the spacing |
tracking | expand or retract the amount of text on a page |
lines | can be any size, shape, or length |
positive space | main focus of a picture |
negative space | the space that surrounds an object in an image |

geometric | use of lines and shape |
organic | free-form, unpredictable, and flowing in appearance |

texture | perceived surface quality |
color | light striking off an object and back to the eye |
calming colors | colors to calm you |
exciting colors | colors that excite you |
neutural colors | black, white, grey, and sometimes brown |
color harmony | combining colors to be harmonious to the eye |

complementary color scheme | colors that oppose each other |
Analogous color scheme | colors that are near each other |
Monochromatic scheme | derived from a single based hue |

tint | mixture of color with white |

balance | arranging elements on either side |

asymmetrical | two sides that are not identical |
