Lesson 2 Basic Editing
Term | Definition |

Autocorrect | A feature that replaces symbols, commonly misspelled words and abbreviations with specific text strings. |
Clipboard | Stores the items for you to paste in another location of the document or another Office file. |
Copy | Word places a duplicate copy in the Clipboard. |
Cut | When Word removes it from the original location and places the text in the Clipboard collection. |
Document Properties | Identifies the creator of the document, the date the document was creates,its subject, and keywords that can be used to search for the document. |
Go To | Command that provides a way to navigate through longer documents quickly. |
Navigation Pane | Provides options for browsing and searching in a document. |
Object Zoom | In the Read Mode enables you to zoom in on objects such as tables, charts, or images while in the Read Mode. |
Paste | Command pastes text from the Clipboard to a new location in either the original document or a new document. |
Read Mode | Changes the page layout of the document with a larger font for easier reading. |
Replace | Command to format and replace other characters. |
Thumbnails | Help in navigating the document, or you can zoom in or out. |
Wildcard | Characters to find words or phrases that contain specific letters or combinations of letters. |
