Bill of Rights
Amendment | Rights Protected |

1st Amendment | Freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly, and petitioning the government |
2nd Amendment | Right to bear arms |
3rd Amendment | The government can't force citizens to house soldiers |
4th Amendment | No unreasonable searches or seizures, police need a search warrant in order to search your property |
5th Amendment | Accused persons are protected from self incrimination, double jeopardy, and must go through due process of law. The idea of eminent domain is also mentioned. |
6th Amendment | Accused persons have the right to a fair trial, a jury or their peers, Habeas Corpus, witnesses on your behalf, and an attorney. |
7th Amendment | Right to a jury trial in cases involving money or property |
8th Amendment | Protection against excessive bail/fines or cruel and unusual punishments |
9th Amendment | You have rights that are not specifically listed within the Constitution |
10th Amendment | Powers that aren't given to the federal government will go to either the states or the people |
