WSHS Occ Prep Want Ad Vocab
| Question | Answer |

| want ad | a brief description about a vacant position (aka classified, posting) |
| job category | a large grouping of like jobs (ex. automotive, lawn care, restaurants) |
| job title | the name of the specific job you are applying for |
| position type | the amount of time (usually in hours) required of the job (full-time, part-time, contract, seasonal) |
| location | the place where you will work (city, building, state) |
| experience | how many years are required to apply for the job |
| qualifications | the same as experience but also the personal skills required of the job |
| job description | a brief explaination of the duties of the job |
| education | the minimum level of education required to apply for the job |
| salary | the amount of money that the job will pay |
| contact | the person (place, phone number, or email)that you send your application to |
| benefits | the extra incentive that the employer gives you in addition to your salary |
| posted date | the date range to apply for the job (usually a two week time period), ex. 2/1/2010 - 2/14/2010 |
| deadline | the date you must turn in your application |
| application | the form you fill out and send in to the employer (it will include your date of birth, experience, education, and skills) |
