Term | Definition |

Bill | A formal written proposal for a new law. |
Filibuster | When a Senator speaks at length in order to delay a vote being held on a bill. |
Cloture | When 60 votes are cast in the Senate to force a vote on a bill. |
Bicameral | A two chamber legislature. |
Senate | Upper chamber of Congress with 2 elected officials for each State. |
House of Representatives | Lower chamber of Congress with elected officials from each State based on population. |
