line | a straight row of points that go on forever in both directions |
line segment | a row of points that start at one specific point and ends at another |
angle | a pair of rays, lines. or line segments that meet at one common point, or vertex |
vertex | a point where two lines, rays, or line segments meet to create an angle |
parallel lines | lines that are the same distance between one another and that never cross |
perpendicular lines | lines, rays, or line segments that cross one another |
point | a specific location in space |
acute angle | an angle that measures less than 90 degrees but more than 1 degree |
obtuse angle | an angle that measure more than 90 degrees and less than 180degrees |
right angle | an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees |
straight angle | an angle that measures exactly 180 degrees |
unit angle | an angle that measures 1 degree |
reflex angle | an angle that is greater than 180 degrees but less than 360 degrees |
intersecting lines | lines that cross and make a "v" or make an angle that is less than 90 degrees or more than 90 degrees |
protractor | a tool used to measure an angle |
benchmark angle | angles such as 45° (half of a right angle), 90° (right) and 180° (straight), that can be used as a reference to estimate an angle's size |
