7th Amendment Right to a trial by jury in certain civil suits
8th Amendment Protection against cruel and unusual punishments
9th Amendment Protection of rights not listed in the Constitution
10th Amendment Powers not delegated to the federal government, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people
11th Amendment Can't sue other states
12th Amendment Election of president & VP
13th Amendment Abolition of slavery except as punishment for a convicted crime
14th Amendment - affirmed citizenship of those born in US - placed explicit restrictions on the laws of states!!
Equal Protection Clause (14th) protected americans from discrimination based on race, gender, etc.
Selective Incorporation (14th) ability of the federal government to prevent states from enacting laws that violate some of the basic constitutional rights of American citizens
15th Amendment Granted voting rights to african americans
18th Amendment Prohibited the making, transporting, and selling of alcoholic beverages
19th Amendment Granted women the right to vote
24th Amendment Right to vote in federal/primary elections - Banned poll tax
26th Amendment Lowered voting age to 18
21st Amendment Repealed 18th amendment (alcohol ban)
