Thucydides He wrote about the wars between Athens and Sparta and is considered one of the greatest historians of the ancient world.
Hippocrates A Greek man who believed that diseases had natural causes. Called the "father of modern medicine".
Pythagoras A Greek scientist who believed that numbers were the key to understanding nature.
Euclid A Greek mathematician who wrote a geometry textbook and was the basis for teaching geometry for 2000 years.
Hypatia She was a highly respected mathematician and philosopher.
Aristotle A Greek philosopher who was fascinated by living things. He classified them as "those with and those without backbones."
Latitude A measure of how far a place on Earth is from the equator.
Longitude A measure of how far a place on Earth is from an imaginary line (Prime Meridian)that runs between the North and South Poles on the globe.
