| rock cycle | a series of processes on the surface and inside Earth that slowly changes rocks from one kind to another kind.

| nonrenewable resource | a resource that is not naturally replaced quickly. (For example, it can take millions of years for rocks and minerals to form again.)

| weathering | the process that breaks down rock and other substances on Earth's surfaces. Heat, cold, water, ice, oxygen & carbon dioxide all cause weathering.(Examples- cracked rocks,streets & sidewalks; rusted metal; peeled paint)

| erosion | the movement of rock or soil by water, ice, wind or gravity (Both weathering & erosion reshape rocks on Earth's surface changing the topography.)
