How did resonance affect the Tacoma Narrows Bridge?   When the natural frequency of the marching soldiers matched the rhythm of the bridge, the bridge collapsed. Wind caused the increasing amplitude to eventually caused the bridge to collapse.

Why is it dangerous for people in the balcony to stamp their feet in a steady rhythm?   Because the natural frequency will match with their stomping and cause the balcony to collapse.
