Changes in Food and Eating Patterns

1. Development of transport links between towns and cities.   Food could be transported between areas. (Rural areas also send food to cities).

4. Continued growth and development in the food processing industry since the Industrial Revolution.   Wider variety of foods available to buy in shops.

5. World War I and II   Increase in food price. Rationing of food due to food shortages.

6. Nutritional research has created healthy eating guidelines.   People are becoming more aware of what they eat.

7. Better transportation, people travelling more to other countries.   Introduction of new food and different cooking methods.
