show | Cannot rank or do mathematical calculations.
Can only find mode.
Example: sex (female or male)

Ordinal Level of Measurement | show 🗑

show | Can calculate mode, median and mean.
All calculations are possible
Example: Income
🗑
|
||||
show | is the most frequent value
example: ddccaaa - A is the mode. If these are grades, this shows that it favors smarter students.
🗑
|
||||
show | is the exact middle of the distribution. N = number of values (state if its even or odd number of values) RANK order before you calculate!
🗑
|
||||
show | Where mean = median = mode
Note: the tails of the curve represent the outliers with extreme scores for both measures and therefore the highest frequency is clustered around the average.
🗑
|
||||
show | Where mean>median>mode
Note: long tail to the right means extreme values where this inflates the mean. This means that median encompasses average better than mean.
🗑
|
||||
show | Where mean<median<mode
Note: long tail to the left means extreme low values which inflate the mean thus we use the median as a measure of central tendency.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
