Distributive Property | To distribute a number through parenthesis by multiplying it. | show | 8(x+7) = 8x + 56; 5x(7 + 9y) = 35x + 45xy | The parenthesis are to do first, but they also mean to multiply. If you multiply a number to each term inside, you get distributive property.
