TermDefinition
Caption Consist of few descriptive words and are used for figures, tables, and equations.
Clip Art Simple pictures and symbols made available for computer users to add to their documents.
Clip Organizer Organizes clipart.
Compress Process of taking one or more files and making them smaller.
Crop Trimming of the horizontal or vertical edges to get rid of unwanted areas.
Drawing Canvas Is a frame-like boundary that keeps multiple drawing objects together
Drop Cap A large initial letter that drops down two or more line at the beginning of a paragraph to indicate a new block of information.
Embedded Object A picture becomes part of the document.
Floating Object An image positioned precisely on the page, allowing the text to wrap around it in one of several formats.
Inline Object An image or other object that moves along with the text that surrounds it.
Linked Object A connection between the document and picture, but doesn't combine them in the same file.
Pull Quote A sentence displayed within a box on the page for emphasis and for ease of movement.
Resetting Discards all the formatting changes that you made to a picture.
Scale Increases or decreases the original picture’s height and width by percentage.
Screen Clippings An image capture of only a part of your computer screen that you have selected.
Screenshots An image capture of the entire current display on computer screen.
Shapes Figures that you can add to your document.
SmartArt Graphics Graphic illustrations available within Word from a list of various categories.
Text Box An invisible, formatted box, in which you can insert and position text or graphic objects.
Word Art A feature within Word that creates a decorative effects within a string of text.
