| Term | Definition |
| descant | A special part in a piece of music that is usually sung higher then the melody or together parts of the song. |
| Treble Clef | A clef that generally indicates notes that sound HIGHER then middle C. |
| Dipthong | A combination of two vowel sounds. |
| Posture | A position of the body or of the body parts. |
| Coda | A special ending to a song. |
| Repeat sign | A symbol that indicates that a section of music should be repeated. |
| Solo | One person singing or playing an instrument alone. |
| Staff | A series of five horizontal lines and four spaces on which notes are written. It is like a ladder, notes placed higher on this sound higher than the notes placed lower. |
| Rest | A symbol used in music notation to indicate sound. |
| Measure | The space between two barlines. |
| Diction | The pronunciation of words while singing. |
| D.S al coda | Repeat from the symbol and skip to the coda when you see the sign. |
| Time signature | A set of numbers at the beginning of a piece of music. The top number indicates the number of beats per measure, the bottom indicates the kind of note that receives the beat. |

| Bass Clef | A clef that generally indicates notes that sound LOWER then middle C |
| Bar line | A vertical Line placed on the musical staff that groups notes and rests together. |
| Double Bar Line | A set of two barlines that indicate the end of a piece or section of music. |
| Vowel | A speech sound that is produced comparatively open configuration of the vocal track. A,E,I,O,U |
| Breath mark | To take a breath |
| Unison | All parts singing or playing the same notes at the same time. |
