| Browser | is a software program created as a simplified means to present and explore content on the World Wide Web - including pictures, videos, and web pages, connected using hyperlinks and classified with Uniform Recourse Identifiers (URLs). |
| Byte | data equal to either seven or eight bits depending if it needs error correction (parity) - the smallest measurement size listed in operating systems. |
| Cookie | a small amount of text-only data saved on your computer while you browse a certain website. |
| Reboot | the process of restarting a working computer using hardware (e.g. a power button) instead of software. - sometimes necessary after installing a software program |
| Firewall | a software utility or hardware device that acts as a filter for data entering or leaving a network or computer. |
| Spam | slang commonly used to describe junk e-mail on the Internet. |
| Modem | a hardware device that connects a computer or router to a broadband network. |
