| Recessive | The allele or gene that appears less often because the dominant allele makes it hide, such as t. |

| Homozygous | Having two of the SAME alleles for a trait (like TT or tt) |
| Heterozygous | Having two DIFFERENT alleles for a trait (Tt) |
| Genotype | The genetic make up or type such as Tt or TT |
| Phenotype | The physical characteristics or traits, such as tall or short. |
