| Parthenon | temple built to honor the Greek goddess, Athena, that served as a central bank for the Greek city-states |
| philosophy | the investigation of truths and principles based on logic |
| polis | a city in Ancient Greece that functioned as an independent country |
| temple | place of worship, dedicated to a specific god or goddess |
| Trojan Horse | wooden replica built by the Greeks under the leadership of Odysseus; Greeks secretly hid inside as the Trojans pulled the giant structure inside the city walls |
