BZD | MOA:bind brain BZD receptors=enhanced binding of GABA receptor by GABA thus + Cl entry= - effect on neuron,used for 1)decreased anxiety secondary to - limbic system,2)sedative or hypnotic effects,3)anticonvulsant effects & 4)muscle relaxation |
Diazepam | MOA:BZD,tradename Valium used 4 anxiolytic & potent skeletal muscle relaxant (muscle strain, tx spasticity in multiple sclerosis & cerebral palsy), long acting, DOC for status epilepticus;ADRs:drowsiness,confusion,ataxia @ high doses,cognitive impairment |
Chlordiazepoxide | MOA: BZD, used for the acute tx of EtOH w/drawl, anxiolytic; ADRs: drowsiness, confusion, ataxia @ high doses, cognitive impairment |
Lorazepam | MOA: BZD used for anxiety disorder; ADRs: drowsiness, confusion, ataxia @ high doses, cognitive impairment |
Alprazolam | MOA: BZD used for anxiety disorder; ADRs: drowsiness, confusion, ataxia @ high doses, cognitive impairment |
