Planet an object that orbits the Sun, has a nearly spherical shape, and has a mass much larger than the total mass of all other objects whose orbits are close by. There are 8. 4 inner -terrestrial planets & 4 outer - gas gaints
Mercury the smallest planet, and the nearest to the sun
Rotation the time it takes an object to turn on its axis one time. The earth makes one rotation in 24hrs = 1 day
Sun the largest body in our solar system around which Earth and other planets revolve and receive heat and light
Revolution the time it takes an object to travel once around the Sun. The earth orbits the sun in 365 days = 1 yr.
