TermDefinition
Direction A position to which motion or another position is referred/ The line or course on which something is moving or is aimed to move along which something is pointing or facing.
Motion change in position
Position A condition with reference to place or. location
Speed Rate of change of an objects position.
Balanced force When the net force on an object is zero. There will be no change in the motion of an object. The object is either motionless or maintaining a constant speed.
Force A push or pull acting on an object.
Friction A force that opposes motion between two surfaces that are touching.
Gravity a traditionally defined,force of attraction between two objects,
Inertia Tendency of an object to resist a change in its motion.
Magnetic Force Force of attraction or repulsion exerted by a magnet.
Unbalanced force When the bet force on an object is greater than zero. There will be no change in motion of an object. A motionless object will begin to move, while an object already moving will change its speed and or direction
Velocity Speed in a given direction
Constant Speed Movement at a fixed (constant) distance per unit of time. The same amount of distance is covered by the object in thw same amount of time at each measurement of that same interval
Distance The degree or amount of separation between two points, lines, surfaces, or objects.
Reference point A place or object used for comparison to determine if an object is in motion
Slope The steepness of a line on a graph, equal to its vertical change divided by its horizontal change.
Energy The ability to do work. Energy is anything that can make matter move or change.
Energy transformation Changing from one form to another.
