cosine | Defined as: adjacent over hypotenuse. |
sine | Defined as: opposite over hypotenuse. |
tangent | Defined as: opposite over adjacent. |
cosecant | Defined as: hypotenuse over opposite. |
secant | Defined as: hypotenuse over adjacent. |
cotangent | Defined as: adjacent over opposite. |
degrees | It is a unit of measure for angles: 360 of them is one revolution. |
radians | It is a unit of measure for angles: 2pi of them is one revolution. |
amplitude | It is half the height of a sinusoid. |
period | It is the length of one horizontal pattern of a sinusoid. |
phase shift | The horizontal movement of a trigonometric function. |
vertical shift | The vertical movement of a trigonometric function. |
cosine | It is the x-value of the corresponding angle on a unit circle. |
sine | It is the y-value of the corresponding angle on a unit circle. |
tangent | It is y/x of the corresponding angle on a unit circle. |
