Acts Section of the New Testament that is a collection of adventure stories of the early church
Epistles This section of the New Testament is also known as 'letters.'
Historical Section of the Old Testament that tells about the beginnings of God's people.
Pentateuch Also known as the Torah, this section of the Old Testament includes the first five books of the Bible.
Prophetic This section of the Old Testament is meant to call us back to God and tell us what we are doing wrong.
Wisdom This section of the Old Testament gives advice and wisdom.
Revelation This section of the New Testament talks about the end of the world and Jesus' second coming.
Gospels These 4 books talk about Jesus' life, and were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Noah and the Flood When God decided to send a flood to wipe away the people who were bad, this good man followed God's instructions and saved animals and his family. God promised never to flood the earth again.
The Tower of Babel People were worshiping false gods and competing with each other to be the best. God created different languages so that the people could not communicate and the magnificent tower was never completed.
Adam and Eve The first humans on earth, who were tempted by the serpent and disobeyed God, creating original sin.
Cain and Abel The sons of Adam and Eve. Abel made a gracious sacrifice to God and it pleased Him very much, but made Cain jealous. Cain killed his brother and had to live with the guilt forever.
Creation God created all that is good in the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
Sacrifice The act of offering someone to God
Forgiveness The act of excusing a mistake or offense
Birthright Privilege someone is entitled to by birth
Covenant A promise
Blasphemy Putting something/someone ahead of God/improper use of the Lord’s name
Patriarchs Fathers of Judeo-Christian religions (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob)
Sabbath The 7th day, when God rested
Sin An act that violates a moral rule
The Fall The effect of Adam and Eve eating from the tree of knowledge, changing earth from immortal to mortal.
Israelite The slaves in Eygpt
Pharaoh's daughter Found a baby in the river, who turned out to be an Israelite named Moses
Moses An Israelite who was raised as an Egyptian royal and later led his people to freedom.
Burning Bush A voice that was calling out to Moses, instructing him to free the Israelites from Pharaoh.
Aaron Moses' brother who went with him to see Pharaoh and explain that God wanted His people freed, but the Pharaoh would not listen and insisted that the Israelites should be his slaves.
Plagues Frogs, gnats and flies, livestock sick, sores, hail, locusts, complete darkness, death of the first born
Passover When the Angel of Death passed over the homes of the Hebrews who had marked their homes with blood, saving the lives of the 1st born in the families.
Red Sea Moses started to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land when Pharaoh’s army began to follow them; Moses parted this, allowing the Hebrews to cross safely but trapping the Egyptians in the sea.
Abram Before he changed his life and his name to Abraham
Sarai Before she changed her life and her name to Sarah

Sacrifice of Isaac To prove his love and devotion to God, Abraham was willing to do this to his only son, but God stopped him when He saw how true Abraham's love was

Birthright As the older son, Esau sold his birthright to his younger brother for food
