What is a year? The time that it takes the Earth to orbit the sun (365.25 days).
Why do we get different seasons? The earth is tilted about an axis. When the Earth is tilting towards the sun it is summer in the Northern hemisphere and winter in the southern hemisphere and vice versa when the Earth is tilting away from the Sun.
Why does the moon appear to change shape over a month if we look at it from Earth? The view of the Moon from Earth changes depending on its position around the Earth. These different views are called phases of the Moon.
What causes moon craters? Meteors, meteorites or asteroids colliding with the surface of the moon.
Why does the moon not have as many craters as the moon? Most burn up coming through the earths atmospheres and craters that have been created have been erased by erosion, tectonics and volcanism.
How is the size of the crater affected by the speed of the meteor striking its surface? The faster the meteor, the larger the crater.
What three objects cause tides? Moon, the Sun and the Earth.
What causes a high tide on the side of the Earth nearest the moon? The water is pulled towards the moon.
What causes a high tide on the side of the Earth furthest from the moon? The Earth is being pulled slightly towards the moon.
How many high tides are there in a day? 2
What is the name of the region around the Sun that has the right temperature for life to exist? The habitable zone or the Goldilocks zone
