What position is the waste gate in when the engine is being turbocharged? Closed for power. Open for exhaust
Hypoxic hypoxia is? Hypoxia related to altitude
Stagnant hypoxia is? Hypoxia related to the blood in the body not being able to circulate properly
Hystoxic hypoxia is? Occurs when the cells are unable to absorb oxygen properly, usually associated with alcohol consumption.
Anaemic hypoxia is? Occurs when the blood is unable to absorb oxygen
Time of useful consciousness at 20,000 ft 5-12 minutes
Rain on windshield causes? Runway to appear lower than it is. Runway lights on final can be magnified to look bigger therefore causing the pilot to undershoot
Haze on final causes Runway looks farther away
Upslope runway causes the illusion that you are higher than you are, causing you to do a low approach
Downslope runway causes the illusion that you are lower than you are, causing you to do a high approach
If terrain around the runway is higher than the runway this will cause? A high approach leading to an overshoot
Turning from downwind to into-wind causes the illusion you are skidding and decelerating
Turning from into- wind to downwind causes the illusion you are slipping and accelerating
The difference between a turn/bank indicator and a turn coordinator is? Turn/bank indicators do not display roll information
A SUPER charger compresses what? Fuel and Air mixture
Difference between Primary and secondary radar? Primary radar- Pulse from the plane. Returns back to plane similar to sonar Secondary radar- Pulse from a ground station, the aircraft requires a transponder
