Causes of the Fall of Rome 1 1) Huge size of Roman Empire made it difficult to manage farms, military, & gov’t. 2) 200AD/CE Many emperors were weak or corrupt ruler. They were not chosen for their leadership qualities. 3) Rome was hit by a plague.
Causes of the Fall of Rome 2 04) Disease caused many to die & population of Rome rapidly shrinks. 5) Workers were needed quickly, so Rome decided to pay more wages. Increased happened too fast.
Causes of the Fall of Rome 3 6) The poor throughout the Empire were overtaxed, overworked & unhappy. 7) Invaders began to attack Roman territories. Rome was too weak to defend itself.
