Body Systems - Respiratory and Circulatory systems

QuestionAnswer
Organ system A group of organs functioning together
Circulation The movement of any substance, such as blood or oxygen through veins, arteries, capillaries, etc.
Circulatory system Carries blood, nutrients, oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body.
Respiration The process of breathing
Respiratory system This system takes in oxygen from the air and sends out carbon dioxide.
Cardiac muscle A type of muscle only found in the heart that is involuntary.
Heart The main organ of the circulatory system which is responsible for pumping blood to the body.
Blood vessels A tube, such as veins or arteries that transport blood.
Vascular Having vessels that transport fluids.
Blood The tissue made from cells that flows in the veins and arteries.
Lungs A pair of organs in the respiratory system where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged
Structure The way an object looks as well as the materials it is made from.
Function The job of an object. This TV remote only has one function.
