What is Growth Phase? The phase of G2.
What is the Synthesis Phase? The chromosomes replicate in the nucleus x2 chromosomes
What is Prophase? Centrioles move to the opposite ends, nuclear envelope disappears, chromosomes coil up into visible structures
What is Metaphase? Spindle fibres attach on to the chromosomes and line them up in the middle, spindel fibres attach onto the centromere
What is Anaphase? Spindel fibres retract and pull 1/2 the chromosomes towards each centromole.
What is Telophase? Spindel fibres are back in the centrioles, nuclear envelopes are starting to form back around both sets of chromosomes, chromosomes uncoil to become chromatin
What is Cell Check Points? Researchers have discovered that there are points in the cell cycle where proteins determine whether the cell should divide or not. If the cell does not pass the signal check, it is repaired/destroyed
What is Cytokinesis? Cell membrane pinches off into the middle and separates into 2 daughter cells.
