Which comes first Growth phase or Synthesis phase. Why is this? Growth Phase comes first. This is because the cell must have the necessary nutrients before duplicating Chromosomes in Synthesis phase. Additionally, there is another growth phase after synthesis to prepare for Mitosis.
What is the order of the phases in Mitosis? Prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase
Which phase separates the 46 chromosomes into pairs of 23 on each side? Telophase
What are cell checkpoints? What happens if these checkpoints are not met? Different points in Cell Division which are necessary in order for the division to be complete. If these check points are not met, the cell will kill itself.
What is cytokinesis? The physical process of cell division, which divides the cytoplasm of a parental cell into two daughter cells.
What is apoptosis? A program of intentional cell death, cell kills itself.
Why are Cancer cells so problematic? They duplicate uncontrollably and can duplicate an unlimited amount of times.
What makes a tumor? When cancer cells divide uncontrollably and lump up together. Can either be benign or malignant.
