How many bars does the opening phrase of intermezzo consist of? What interval apart do the instruments play? The opening phrase consists of 4 bars, the instruments play in 8ves.
Which instruments play an answering phrase, who accompanies them and what dynamic is used? The horns play an answering phrase, accompanied by clarinets and bassoon using p dynamincs.
When the opening phrse is repeated in bar 9, how is it different to its original appearance? The opening phrase is repeated a 5th higher.
What tempo is used for the B section of intermezzo, how does this change how the melody is played? B section tempo is allegretto moderato, this leads to a smooth flowing melody played by the saxophone, cornet and clarinet accompanied by the strings.
Which bar do all the instruments join in? In bar 37 all the instruments join in.
In the A1 section where is the answering phrase taken from? Taken from the B section but played an 8ve higher in a different arrangement.
