| Line segment | a set of points that lie between |
| Congruent Segments | Segments that have the same measure |
| Midpoint of a line segment | point that divides the segment into two congruent parts |
| Bisector of a Line segment | Any line that intersects the segment at its midpoint |
| Angle | is formed by 2 rays sharing a common endpoint |
| Straight Angle | an angle who's measure is 180 degrees |
| Acute Angle | An angle who's measure is greater then 0 but less than 90 |
| Obtuse Angle | An angle who's measure is greater than 90 but less than 180 |
| Congruent Angles | Angles that have the same measure |
| Bisector of an angle | a ray whose endpoint is the vertex of the angle and which divides the angle into two congruent parts |
| Perpendicular lines | two lines that intersect and form right angles |
| Point | a position in space |
| Line | Has no endpoints and extends indefinitely in both directions. |
| Complementary angles | are two angles whose sum is 90 degrees |
| supplementary angles | are two angles whose measure is 180 degrees |
| vertical angles | are two nonadjacent angles formed by 2 intersecting lines. they are equal in measure |
| adjacent angles | angles that share a common vertex and a common side |
| altitude | extends from a vertex of a triangle perpendicular to the line containing the opposite side |
| polygon | a closed figure |
| triangle | a three sided polygon |
| acute triangle | a triangle that has 3 acute angle measurements |
| obtuse triangle | a triangle that contains 1 obtuse angle measurement |
| right triangle | a triangle that contains a 90 degree angle |
| equiangular triangle | a triangle with all angles congruent |
| scalene triangle | a triangle with no congruent sides |
| isosceles triangle | a triangle with 2 congruent base angles and 2 congruent sides |
| equilateral triangle | a triangle with three congruent sides |
