Herodotus Legacy in Language and Literature A Greek writer. Known as the "father of history" because he liked to write about history.
Thucydides Legacy in Language and Literature Greatest historian. Liked to write about the wars between Athens and Sparta.
Hippocrates Legacy in Medicine Known as "father of medicine". Believed that diseases had natural causes. Thought health and medicine very important. Observed his patients. Hippocratic Oath - promise to be honest, preserve life, & keep info about patients.
Pythagora Legacy in Mathematics Numbers were key to understanding nature, Started School for mathematical theories, Geometry to measure land, Area (shape & spaces to measure for seeds for crops
Euclid Legacy in Mathematics Math mathematician, Created geometry textbook used for 2,000 years
Hypatia Legacy in Mathematics Woman, respected mathematician, Taught philosophy and mathematics in Alexandria
Aristotle Legacy in Understanding Plants and Animals Philosopher (Plato was his teacher), Fascinated by living things, classified (made groups) information about plants/animals
