Consumer key word

TermDefinition
consumer This is someone who buys goods or services for their own use. You are not a consumer if you intend to resell or buy from an unregisterd seller. E.g. Buying milk in centra for your own use.
Coustmer This is someone who buys goods for their own use or to resell. You are coustmer if you buy from an unregisterd seller. E.g. Centra buying milk from a wholesaler with intent to resell.
Goods These are things you buy from a shop. In order to be a good it must be tangible. E.g. Milk.
Service This is something that is done for you. Either by machine or people. Services must be completed with due care and caution. E.g. Paying for someone to service your car.
Merchantable Quality This means goods must be of resonable quality when compared to price. Goods must be of merchantable under law, or else you are entitled to redress. E.g. A car costing 50,000 should last longer than a car costing 500 euro.
As described This is a consumer right. This means goods must do what they were described as being able to do. E.g. A jacket described as waterproof should be waterproof.
Redress This is the compensation you recieve for a good breaking consumer rights. It can come in the form of refund, repair or replacement. E.g. Buying milk and finding out it's out of date, you are entitled to redress.
Guaranetee This added protection you pay for, in addition to your consumer rights. When your gurantee runs out your still entitled to your consuemr rights. E.g. Paying 10 euro for a gurantee on a jacket, that lasts a year.
Unsolicated Goods This is when you recieve unwanted goods from a company you orderd goods you wanted off before. Another name for this inertian selling. E.g. Ordering goods off Amazon and then when you recieve the goods you wanted they send you more you didn't order.
