Consumer

QuestionAnswer
A Consumer is Anyone who buys goods or services for their own personal use or consumtion.
A False economy is Asituation where a purchase which appears cheaper turns out in the long run to be more expensive.
Caveat Emptor Let the buyer be ware.
A credit note is A document made out to the consumer for the value of the goods returned. It allows them to purchase other goods from that shop equal in value to the goods returned.
A garentee is A promise by a manufacturer to repairor replace damaged goods free of charge within a stated period of time.
A good is -Something tangible -It can be seen -usually consumed immediately -examples include: Food, Furniture, Cars, Games consoles ECT.
A service is -Something that is done for you, by a person or machine. -Examples include: Service on a chair
Merchantable quality This means that the goods should be of reasonable quality, considering what they are supposed to do, the price paid and how long they should last.
Fit for their purpose Example:a washing machine must be capable of washing clothes, a cpmbined fridge freezer must be capable of freezing food.
As described Example:a jacket described as water proof should not let rain in.
Conform to sample Example:the wallpaper or carpet you recieve should be the same as the sample shown to you in the shop when you order it.
