Work Any activity that requires effort
Employment Work carried out in return for payment
Employers People who hire others to do work for them in return for payment
Labour Force Consists of all people who are available for work
Unemployment When people who are willing and able to work are unable to find a suitable job
Self-employed People who work for themselves
Organisational structure Shows the position of each person in the business, from the owners right down to the most junior employees
Managing director Person with overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the business
Manual Physical work such as building
Services Jobs that include providing a service to others such as nursing
Creative Jobs that require the person to have a particular artistic talent such as a musician
Professionals Have a professional qualification obtained from a university e.g accountant
Skilled Have a skill obtained from a training course or apprenticeship e.g. electrician
