What is primatology? The study of primates
What species are considered haplorhines? Tarsiers, monkeys, apes
What species are considered Strepsirhines? Lemurs, Lorises, Galagos
What are Simians? First monkeys found in SE China about 45 mya
What is a theory? Something that has been tested over and over and has yet to be disproved
What is an epoch? Significant period of time
In which epoch were Omomyids found? Eocene
What characteristics categorize an Omomyid? Tiny, nocturnal, ate insects and fruits, related to haplorhines
What characteristics categorize an Adapid? Larger, diurnal, ate more fruits and leaves, related to strepsirhines
Tarsiers are an example of an Omomyid or Adapid? Omomyid
Lemurs and Lorises are examples of Omomyids or Adapids? Adapids
What is the group of characteristics for living in trees called? The Arboreal Theory
