Describe the physical appearance of the witches. Banquo describes them as withered looking, crazily dressed, not like creatures of the earth, skinny lips, beards.
What do the witches predict for Banquo? He is lesser bu greater, not happy but happier, ( than Macbeth ) and his son's will be kings.
What does the prediction for Banquo really mean? His heirs will become king? ( Or maybe it is foreshadowing the slaughter of Banquo?)
What news is brought by Ross and Angus? That the King is pleased with Macbeths actions and that since the old thane is sentenced, Macbeth is now the new thane of cawdor.
As the others talk, what do macbeths asides reveal about his thinking? Now is when he really comes up with the idea of Murder. What the witches pedeicted came true, but as Macbeth says " the best part is still yet to come". Now Macbeth is thinking that the only way he is going to become king would be to murder Duncan.

How did the executed react? He admitted to what he did and set forth a deep repentance.
what news does Duncan impart to Macbeth? His oldest son will be receiving the throne.
How did Macbeth react? He basically said, " I'm not happy unless I'm working for you."
What is revealed in Macbeth's last speech in scene 1 act four? Macbeth is going to become king any way he can, and nothing is going to stop him. He is going to murder Duncan.
Where does the king decide they should go? Macbeth's castle
Act 1, S. 5 As the scene opens who is reading a letter? From whom? What information is revealed in this letter? Lady Macbeth, from Macbeth. The letter gives an account of what the witches predicted, and how Macbeth is now Thane.

In the famous unsex me monologue, what does Lady Macbeth wish for and why? She is basically asking that all her feminie sensityivity and feeling to be taken out of her so she could be more like a man, and have the ability to kill.
What does Lady Macbeth propose to do with King Duncan? Kill him while he is sleeping.
What is the irony in banquo's quote about the martin? Basically there is beauty on the outside, but decay on the indside.
What is Macbeth emotionally wrestling with as the scene opens? Murdering of Duncan
After saying that If the deed be done, let it be done quickly what arguments does Macbeth raise for not doing it? The fact that Duncan is a humble king, he is also related to Macbeth, and Macbeth should be the one closing the door in his murderers face, not the one murdering.
In the end, what does Macbeth decide after he argues with himself about the murder of Duncan? He decides not to go on with the plan.
What does the following quote mean? " I dare do all that may become a man, who dares to do more is no man." He dares to do only what is proper for a man to do. He who dares to do more is not a man at all.
What is the point of Lady Macbeth's baby imagery? She is saying that if you say something, whatever you say you have to do. You have to keep your word.
How will Lady Macbeth and Macbeth plan to divert suspicion for Duncan's murder from themselves? They will drunken the guards ( then Macbeth will no longer be guarded) Kill Macbeth with their daggers and bloody the guards.

".. it is clear that often to bring us to our destruction, the instruments of darkness tell us truths, they win us with honest trifles, in order to trick is onto deeper consequences. Banquo

With what words does Banquo reaffirm his loyalty to king Duncan? I'll do whatever you sat, as long as I can keep a clear conscience.
What lie does Macbeth tell Banquo? He does not think of the witched predictions.
Why is Banquo's reactions to the witches prophesies so different form that if Macbeth? He is more cautious, believes witches are attempting to make Macbeth/him greedy for power.
Consider the implications of the dagger hallucination. what does Macbeth mean by the fatal vision of the dagger? It foreshadows the death of Duncan.
Why is Macbeth's allusion to Tarquin particularly appropriate? He is creating an imagery that he can behave madly like Tarquin , and hr can reign like him
Describe the murder of Duncan as recounted by Macbeth He did the deed, then encounter's two servants. He couldn't utter the words "amen" then he heard a voice scream out, " SLEEP NO MORE! Macbeth has killed sleep!"
Why is he unable to say Amen? Due to the sin he committed, he feels guilty and unworthy to e blessed by God.
