What does transparent mean? | If you say "that glass is transparent" it means "that glass is clear". |
What does translucent mean? | It means that its not clear but its not completely something that you can't see through. |
What does opaque mean? | It means that you can definitely not see through it. |
What does the cornea do? | It protects the eye. |
What is one effect of refraction? | Light bends. |
What is light? | Light is a form of energy. |
What are 2 properties of light? | Brightness and color. |
At about what speed does light travel? | About 300,000,000 meters per second. |
What causes light to bend when moving from one material to another? | Refraction. |
How are transparent and translucent materials different? | Well transparent is VERY CLEAR and translucent is a little blurrier than translucent but clearer than opaque. |

What is visible light? | The part of light that we can see. |
What is white light? | A light that has all the colors of the rainbow [roy g biv]. |
How do colors in the light effect the speed of light? | Well with the roy g biv concept it doesnt work with light because with light it is iroy g bivu. The colors of light effect the speed of light because red is the fastest and indigo is the slowest. |
What is a prism? | A prism is an object that bends lightas light passes through it. |
What is reflection? | Reflection occurs when light bounces from a surface. |
What is absorption? | Absorption occurs when an object takes in light? |
Imagine you are at a birthday party.A birthday cake is in the middle of the room. the room is very large. you are standing at the end of the room 10 meters away from the cake you can see the candles. How? | The light travels all the way to where you are standing. |
What is infrared light? | A light that humans can feel but not see. |
