Poetry | a type (genre) of literature that uses on or more poetic device like rhythm, rhyme, and figurative language |
Prose | Ordinary form of written language. It’s not poetry, drams, or song. It occurs in fiction and non-fiction |
Blank Verse | A form of poetry that doesn’t rhyme. It has a rhythm comparable to a heartbeat |
iambic pentameter | A type of blank verse that has 10 syllables per line, every-other syllable is stressed |
inflection | A change in the tone or pitch of a voice that shows emotions |
dialogue | a conversation. It is a literary form in which two or more parties engage in a discussion |
allusion | a reference to a place, event, literary work, myth, or work of art |
pun | A joke in which words have a similar sound but different meaning |
poverb | a sentence or phrase which expresses a universal truth; they are pearls of wisdom |

audacious | Brave or Daring |
progeny | Offsprings; children you will have |
Pomp | an over the top festivity |
Dowager | A widow with a title derived from her husband |
feign | pretending to be affected |
con | an instance where you tricked someone |
