antagonist a character who is usually the Bad Guy in the story

idiom a phrase or expression associated with a specific people or culture
dialect the idioms and pronunciations used in spoken and written language in different regions of a country
legend oral or written storytelling that may have some truth but focuses on exaggerated physical strength/courage
myth oral or written storytelling that may involve supernatural beings
fable oral or written storytelling that teaches a moral or lesson
personification giving human qualities to inanimate objects
imigary descriptive language using sensory words to paint a picture in the reader's mind
simile a comparison between two things using the word like or the word as
metaphor a comparison between two things (nouns)
symbol stands for or represents a person, place, thing, or idea
hyperbole an exaggeration or overstatement
free verse poetry without a set meter or rhyme
verse poetry with a set meter or rhyme
cite evidence to show facts or proof
anecdote a short, entertaining account of a person or event to help make a point
arguement written or spoken discussion offering different points of view
claim an individual's belief or opinion that should be supported by facts
