E pluribus unum | "Out of many, one" Meaning - one of many colonies/states, we are one nation. |
18th | Prohibition |
26th | Right to vote at 18 (instead of 21) |
21st | Ended Prohibition |
19th | Gave WOMEN the right to vote |
24th | Citizens can't be asked to pay a tax to vote (Poll tax) |
23rd | Gave the residents of Washington, D.C. the right to vote. |
12th | The President and Vice President are elected separately. Electors are chosen be the state legislators to vote as part of the electoral college. |
