TermDefinition
Chart a graphical representation of data; makes the data in a worksheet easier to understand by providing a visual picture of the data
Column chart uses bars of varying heights to illustrate values in a worksheet
Line chart columns are replaced by points connected by a line
Pie chart shows the relationship of a part to a whole
Scatter chart shows the relationship between two categories of data
Data source stored in a range of cells in the worksheet; what charts are based on
Data series a group of related information in a column or row of a worksheet that is plotted on the chart
Embedded chart what the chart is inserted as after chart type and style are selected. In the center of the worksheet
Sizing handles you re-size the chart by dragging one of these which are indicated by black dots at the corners and the sides of the selected char
Chart sheet a separate sheet in the worksheet that stores a chart
Exploded pie chart pull one or more slices away from the pie chart to distinguish them
elements different parts that make up that chart
Selection box a box that surrounds a selected chart element
chart layout specifies which elements are included in a chart and where they are placed
chart style formats the chart based on colors, fonts, and effects associated with the workbook's theme
