Plebeians | lower class of Rome - made up 95% of the population - denied a say in government and religious decisions |
Conflict of the Orders | the Plebeians protest and refuse to fight in the army - leave the city- refuse to do their everyday work until guaranteed rights as Romans citizens - Twelve Tablets -tribunes of the Plebs |
Gauls | tribes from the Northwest that came looking for lands to live on - Romans refused them any space - in anger they attacked and burned Rome Julius defeated them during the 3rd Period of Expansion. |
First Period of Rome Expansion | by friendly treaty and violent conflict Rome took over the entire Italian Peninsula -Plebieans had to fight in the army. Conquered people payed taxes and sent soldiers |
