Founded by a Quaker who thought of this colony as his, "Holy Experiment." Pennsylvania
The first permanent English settlement of Jamestown is found in this colony Virginia
The leader, Lord Baltimore, would convince its assembly to pass the, "Act of Toleration." Maryland
This colony shares a southern side. It does not have a harbor or any major river systems. North Carolina
Swampy lowlands near the coast provide the necessary geography for the rice plantations that would develop here....along with slave labor. South Carolina
Last of the colonies to be founded. Oglethorpe wanted an area for English debtors to be able to settle. It also provides a buffer from Spanish Florida. Georgia
