Key Terms - Getting Help from a Third Party

TermDefinition
Trade Associations an organization founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry or sector.
The Ombudsman appointed by the government to investigate complaints by the public relating to state agencies
Small Claims Court if you are looking for a remedy of Eur 2,000 or less from a trader, you can use this procedure in the District Court
Consumers' Association of Ireland It will represent members who have a complaint against a government department or private company
The Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs It informs you of your rights as a consumer concerning the truth of advertisements and the description on goods and services. It was set up under the Consumer Information Act 1978
