No employee shall wear any unauthorized articles of clothing | bearing the Sheriff’s Office badge or insignia |
the words “Jacksonville Sheriff's Office,” “Police” or lettering, designs or words identifying the employee | as a member of the JSO without prior authority of the member’s commanding officer or higher authority |
When applicable to specific issued items, the color, quantity and style will be determined | by Supply Unit personnel |
All personnel shall be issued | a color photo identification card |
Officers wishing to purchase comparable alternative footwear | shall contact the Supply Unit Supervisor for a listing of approved footwear |
The badge shall not be exchanged or transferred except | by established procedure |
Loss of or damage to Sheriff's Office issued uniform clothing, insignia, or equipment | shall be reported by the employee to their Assistant Chief, via e–mail |
Loss of a firearm, badge, portable radio, Sheriff’s Office Employee Identification Card or other issued equipment | which can be traced by a serial or other unique number, also requires a General Offense/Incident Report |
Reimbursement or replacement of lost or damaged Sheriff’s Office property will be handled | in accordance with established policy, refer to General Order LVI (56), Property Inventory Control |
