Direct Observation Officer (One-On-One)

Be assigned to (one–on–one) | direct observation for a total of more than 4 hours |
during any given watch | in order to prevent fatigue, complacency, and/or over–familiarization with the inmate |
Relieve the close supervision officer | while in the same dorm |
Sit at any of the tables | located in the dorm |
Leave his assigned area until | properly relieved |
Bring any food, reading materials | or other personal items to the Direct Observation post |
Participate in the cell search | so he can maintain the direct, uninterrupted visual observation of the inmate |
Maintain a position directly | in front of the cell where the inmate is housed |
including when the inmate is housed | within a dorm until properly relieved by another officer |
Maintain constant uninterrupted | visual observation of the inmate |
